Ainsley Maitland-Niles: Making most out of all the Arsenal loanees. A look at Maitland-Niles loan spell at Ipswich Town so far

Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles so far demonstrated just what he has to offer the Gunners with a series of impressive displays in the championship. Playing on the right, he has the presence of mind as to when to pull out to the touchline to create width by dragging the full back out towards him and when to tuck in once possession is lost. His tactical awareness at such a young age is often applaud by Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy.

The 18 year old made 24 appearances in the Championship so far with 5 of them coming as a substitute. He has scored one goal and created one assist along with 34 chances he created for his teammates. He also scored an FA Cup goal in 2 appearances for the Tractor Boys. He is a team player getting valuable game time under the experienced former Premier League manager Mick McCarthy.

Major Strengths:
At Ipswich, he has been given the responsibility to take corners. His other assets are having fair pace, putting in crosses and taking long shots. His defensive contribution to the game is also very impressive. He tracks back well and is very good at tackling, which makes him a dream for a fullback to play with.

Major Weaknesses:

Passing is not often his greatest strength. He lacks a little bit of flair but is a very good team player with lots of maturity for his age. After a recent game against Reading , Ipswich Boss told "At times he's been different class, other times he's been mediocre or ordinary, but overall I think he's been seven out of 10,".

"He had a tough time the other night. I was extremely unhappy by the crowd towards him as it's not going to help." He added to BBC Radio Suffolk: "We've taken a young player on loan from Arsenal and he's come here to help us and in the main he has. I love him, he's a great kid". "I just thought the atmosphere was difficult (against Reading), we'd dropped out the top six, we've lost in the cup, it wasn't a great game and we weren't playing brilliantly at all," said McCarthy.
"I fully understand that but it's not always about playing brilliantly, it's about winning and if we all stick together we've got a better chance. "But he's a kid, he wasn't getting any abuse, it was just all the moans and groans, he was having a tough time and as we saw it doesn't help. If someone is standing over you moaning and groaning it's not easy."

He is proving an excellent loan signing for Mick but Arsenal will also benefit which will give him enough experience of playing in the championship. He has the right attitude to excel in any team and is hardworking. Hope he has a great future at Arsenal.
